What kit does a cadet need to enter various competitions?

The basic standard for competition once a fencer is 14 or over, or if they are entering competitions aimed at fencers over 14 can be found here The strip highlighted in yellow is likely to apply to most cadet fencing.

The important thing to remember is that an 800N plastron and 350N jacket and breeches (not trackies) are obligatory.

Some overseas competitions (particularly events that are described as FIE satellites) require that a fencer wears a lame (or jacket in the case of Epee) bearing their name and country, as well as the country identifying stripe (Union jack, or "go faster" stripes).

Most cadet internationals (except the Cadet Worlds) do not require a named lame or stripes, but its worth checking with the organiser of the trip.
